The World of Today

I’m just going to share a little something about my opinion around some of the elements our globalized world of today. No, not about the basics, just some thinking I have done concerning this theme. At last the penny dropped in my case.

Well, everyone of you readers knows that the world has become a smaller place – on a daily basis we read and talk with/about people with other nationalities. We have friends and networks all over the world. Newspapers are keeping us updated on disasters taking place in this world of ours - keeping us updated 24/7.

In the country of
Norway, people often read newspapers as VG and Dagbladet – some even read English and American newspaper, just to keep themselves on their toes.

As a matter of fact, I like to say that we carry the world in our pocket by using technology.

But what happens when a 16 year old girl from Norway, which have everything she needs and so much more gets tired of reading the newspaper on a daily basis about disasters and conflicts? Have the world become a place of too much information and technology, or have this girl just lost her capability to be empathetic for a short period of time? Is this a result of watching too violent movies and playing grotesque games? Or did she just get enough of the evilness that exist in this world?
